Your Next Live-In Couple
12 years luxury Italian estates • Business owner • Licensed drone pilot

We're not a typical domestic couple — and we think that's a good thing.
Walter spent 12 years managing luxury private residences in Italy — hosting formal dinners, maintaining properties to five-star standards, caring for pools and gardens, and coordinating contractors. He's the estate professional, and this role is a return to the work he loves most.
Paulina comes from a different world. She ran her own company for five years, then spent eight years as a senior engineer at Sky. She's never worked in a private household — but she's spent her whole career organising people, solving problems, managing budgets, and keeping complex operations running smoothly. She's also a military school graduate, a licensed drone pilot, and the kind of person who researches everything thoroughly before she starts.
Together, we're a stronger team than two of either of us would be. Walter brings the hands-on estate expertise. Paulina brings the organisational backbone and modern technology skills that most domestic couples simply can't offer. We share the things that matter most for this role: we're reliable, we're discreet, we pay attention to detail, and we genuinely want to build our life in the mountains.
Walter excels at hands-on work — cooking, property maintenance, gardening, guest hosting, and direct service. Paulina excels at organisation — planning, scheduling, admin, technology, and keeping everything coordinated behind the scenes.
Discretion, loyalty, autonomy, reliability, and attention to detail. We're looking for a long-term home, not a stepping stone — and we want to build a trusted partnership with the family we work for.
This isn't a compromise — it's the whole point. We're runners, hikers, and outdoor people. We want to live surrounded by mountains and nature, and we're ready to build our daily life around that.

Paulina holds a commercial drone operator licence from the Polish Civil Aviation Authority and has flown everything from small camera drones to large industrial units. For a mountain chalet, this means safe, easy roof and gutter inspections after storms or heavy snow — no scaffolding or contractors needed. She can also document the property and grounds from the air for insurance, maintenance records, or simply beautiful photography.
A note about my background: I've spent my career in technology — first running my own company, then as a senior engineer at Sky. I haven't worked in a private household before, and I won't pretend otherwise. But I've spent years managing people, budgets, clients, and high-pressure situations. I'm disciplined (military school will do that), I'm organised to a fault, and I genuinely love learning new things. Walter has the estate experience. I bring the organisational backbone, the tech skills for a modern home, and the work ethic to master whatever I don't yet know. We're stronger together than two of either of us would be.

Re: Live-In Domestic Couple — Luxury Chalet, Celerina St. Moritz
Dear Hiring Manager,
We are writing to apply as a couple for the Live-In Domestic Couple position at your family's chalet in Celerina. We'd like to explain why we believe we're a good fit — and why this role is a deliberate, positive choice for us both.
Walter spent 12 years managing luxury private residences in Italy — it's the work he loves and the work he's best at. He's been in technical maintenance roles in the UK since 2013, and he's ready to return to private household management.
Paulina comes from a different background. She ran her own company for five years and has spent the last eight years as a senior engineer at Sky. She hasn't worked in a private household before — but she's spent her career managing people, solving problems, and keeping things running smoothly under pressure. She's organised, disciplined (military school will do that), and genuinely quick to learn.
What brings us together on this application is simple: we both want a life built around mountains, nature, and meaningful work. We're done with the corporate routine. We want autonomy, the satisfaction of looking after a beautiful home, and the chance to build a long-term relationship with a family who values reliability and trust.
Your role is exactly that — a long-term position with a family who wants professionalism without stuffiness, and a household team they can genuinely rely on.
Walter's background is particularly well-suited to this role. From 2001 to 2003, he served as House Manager for Studio Legale Delli Santi Albertazzi & Partners in Rome, managing a combined private residence and professional office. His responsibilities included full household management, hosting formal dinners for 14–16 guests, property maintenance, groundskeeping, pool maintenance, guest logistics, and household finance.
From 2003 to 2012, Walter managed a portfolio of 5–7 exclusive holiday villas at a prestigious golf course development near Rome. This role required complete autonomy — he was the sole caretaker responsible for multiple high-end properties year-round, delivering what he calls "invisible service": deep cleaning between guest stays to five-star hotel standards, pool maintenance to professional standard, golf course-level garden and landscape maintenance, contractor coordination, and discreet property preparation.
Walter takes genuine pride in his work. He describes his housekeeping standard as "aiming for five-star hotel presentation in every space" — the kind of attention to detail where water spots don't exist and rooms look untouched. He treats gardening as both a skill and a hobby, and his cooking expertise comes from years of preparing multi-course dinners for large groups.
Perhaps most importantly for your household, Walter is fluent in Italian after 12+ years living and working in Italy. He also speaks conversational French, professional-level English and Russian, and native Polish.
Paulina hasn't worked in a private household — so let us tell you what she has done, and why it matters.
For nearly five years, she ran her own company. Not as a manager within someone else's business — she built it, hired the team, found the clients, managed the finances, and handled everything that came up. Her clients included the Polish National Bank and Play, one of Poland's largest telecoms providers. Running your own company teaches you to be resourceful, organised, and calm when things go wrong — because there's nobody else to fix it.
For the past eight years at Sky, she's worked in a senior role where reliability is everything — responsible for systems that millions of people use every day. She was promoted to Shift Leader, trusted to make decisions and supervise her team without oversight. It's detail-oriented, high-pressure work, and she's been doing it well for nearly a decade.
Beyond the organisational skills, Paulina brings something most domestic couples simply can't: she's completely comfortable with modern home technology. Smart heating, lighting, security systems, entertainment setups — she can manage, troubleshoot, and optimise all of it. She's also a licensed drone pilot, which is genuinely useful for a mountain property — safe roof and gutter inspections after storms or heavy snow, without needing scaffolding or contractors.
She's a military school graduate, a volunteer coordinator who's led teams of 20+ people, a regular runner and hiker, and — most importantly — someone who does her homework. Give her a week and she'll know more about Swiss laundry care standards than most people learn in a year.
Your job description talks about "relaxed luxury" — informal yet impeccable, autonomous yet reliable, professional yet approachable. That resonates with both of us. Walter delivered exactly this during his Italian years: five-star presentation without stuffiness, invisible service that respected privacy while ensuring nothing was overlooked.
Paulina brings something different but equally valuable: the organisational discipline to keep a large property running smoothly behind the scenes, and the modern technology skills to manage a smart home with confidence. She's honest about being new to private households — and she's prepared to learn fast.
We're not looking for a stepping stone. We're looking for a long-term home where we can do work we're proud of, live in the mountains we love, and build a trusted partnership with your family.
We would be delighted to discuss this opportunity further at your convenience. Thank you very much for considering our application.
Yours sincerely,
Paulina Stopa
